Sailing Company
This was one of the first projects that we did in Photoshop. The skill that was to be obtained from this exercise is the shadow effect applied to the elipses. I chose to create a white shape because it contrasted well with the ocean and it gave the advertisement a "dreamy" feel because of the shoft white figures the cloud makes. The figure that was made at the bottom of the advertisement resembles the clouds in the sky and creates unity within the piece. I used different font styles as well to further the design of my work.
Music Farm Ad – lil Wayne
As you can see I used the same method of creating the elipse and adding text within it. This activity also taught us how to use the lasso/feather tools. You lasso (outline) the part of the image that you want to see and apply the feather technique to make the rest of the picture subtly disappear. I used 3 seperate images of the artist and I think the image of him as a child creates contrast in the work. The image on the right was where I got the color scheme from. The red and green stripe on his shirt dictated the layout of the colors in the poster creating unity.
